Homeless Voting

Poster Created by Thomas Dang of AIGA Cleveland Design Outreach 2016

NEOCH believes that participation in the democratic process is critical for those struggling with their housing.  The Coalition has been involved in registration activities since 1987. We have worked with County officials to assure that homeless people have access to voting.  The Cuyahoga County Office of Homeless Services has made this a priority for the shelters.  Cleveland/Cuyahoga County is one of the only continuums in the United States that requires the submission of voting plans from every shelter.  This is a model that should be replicated throughout the United States.  We have worked for decades to protect access to the ballot box for homeless people.
